Juvederm
Juvederm Voluma®
One of the newest, deeper fillers, Juvederm Voluma® is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area, counteracting age-related midface volume loss.
Placed correctly, it can also benefit the jawline, recessed chin, temples and nasal labial folds. Its hallmark is building structure in addition to filling, providing an immediate change in appearance that lasts up to 2 years.
Juvederm Volbella®
A new addition to the Juvederm® family of products. Volbella® is a superficial filler (think “frosting”) with the consistency of soft gel.
It is FDA approved for lips and lip lines, giving lips proper filling without unnatural projection. It can eradicate lip lines, fine lines on cheeks and “necklace” lines on the neck. Treatments last approximately 1 year.
Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus®
Intended for deeper nasolabial folds, mid-cheek, marionette lines. It corrects more severe facial wrinkles and folds and fills in depressed areas of the cheeks, reshaping facial contours.
It can also be used for hand rejuvenation. Its longevity is dependent upon the area injected, but generally lasts 1-1.5 years.

What is a Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar found naturally in our bodies. Its function is to absorb water, deliver nutrients and act as a cushioning agent. Synthetic forms of hyaluronic acid have been developed and used to correct disorders in the fields of rheumatology, ophthalmology, wound repair and facial rejuvenation.
Common products used for cosmetic enhancement include Restylane®, Juvederm®, Belotero®, Perlane® and Prevelle®. When injected into the skin, it acts like a sponge and expands to fill in wrinkles and folds and support areas of volume loss.
These injections also induce and stimulate collagen, which further firms and plumps the skin over time. They have a gel-like consistency that acts like an inflated cushion supporting facial structures and tissues that may have lost volume or elasticity due to normal aging.
One of the unique characteristics of hyaluronic acids is that they can be reversed with the injection of an antidote called Hyaluronidase. This soluble enzyme acts locally at the site of placement via injection to break down the hyaluronic acid filler.
