Mole removal is a relatively fast and simple surgical procedure. The removal of moles is a very common procedure and usually requires very little recovery time. Removal of facial moles requires a high level of surgical expertise and artistic skill if it is to be done with minimal scarring. As a board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Hill is highly trained in advanced microsurgery and can ensure minimization of any potential scarring.

When Dr. Hill removes a mole or mass from the face he considers the whole face and not simply the area where the mole is located. When considering the whole face Dr. Hill takes into account the location of muscles used for facial expression as well where the natural lines of tension exist. This allows him to avoid areas of scar formation and produce a clean minimal result. Any physician can remove a mole from the face; however, Dr. Hill is committed to removing facial moles in the least invasive and cosmetically superior way. The best mole removal method is dependent upon the characteristic of the mole to be removed, including its size, shape and color.

We call the eyes “the windows to the soul,” so it’s obvious that eyelids frame one of the most important features of the human face. Fortunately, there’s a great deal that can be done to give your eyes the treatment they deserve. Cosmetic eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, and give a rejuvenated appearance to the surrounding area of your eyes, making you look more rested and alert.

Eyelid surgery seeks to remove any flaws from eyelids that may distract from the beauty of the eyes themselves. This may include correcting dark, puffy circles under the eyes through a lower blepharoplasty procedure, dealing with an issue that can make a patient look tired or as if he or she is not getting enough sleep. For upper eyelids, our surgeons can address double hooded, heavy eyelids which make the eyes look smaller and more tired looking.

Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is typically performed to set prominent ears closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. In some cases, however, it may also correct notable deformities. Otoplasty is different than many other plastic surgeries in that it’s actually about trying to attract less negative attention, rather than attracting more positive attention. Although sometimes adults who feel that their ears are overly prominent may look into the procedure, it is most often obtained for younger patients who may be concerned about excessive teasing or bullying.

The surgery is used to correct a defect in the ear structure that is present at birth, becomes apparent as a child develops, or is caused by injury or earlier surgery. Otoplasty is used to correct a rare condition called marcrotia (overly large ears) or protruding ears, not associated with hearing loss. This surgery is appropriate for adults, teens and children over the age of 5.

As the largest and most visible organ of our body, it is no surprise that our skin can produce a number of appearance and health-related issues.

The Aesthetic Group’s Dr. Gary Hill is highly trained in both cosmetic and reconstructive skin surgery specializing in reconstructive surgery after skin cancer, removal of lesions, skin grafting, and mole removal. Mole removal can be both a cosmetic and health related procedure depending on the status of the mole as either cancerous or benign. Facial skin grafting and mole removal require a high level of surgical expertise and artistic skill if it is to be done with minimal scarring. Dr. Hill is highly trained in advanced microsurgery and places his focus on ensuring minimization of any potential scarring, leaving his patients with healthy and aesthetically pleasing results.

With millions of Americans affected by Rosacea, it’s surprising that it doesn’t get more media coverage. Perhaps one of the reasons is because this skin condition is very much misunderstood and is often even confused for other problems, like eczema or acne. Unfortunately, because many sufferers often don’t realize that this condition is quite manageable with the right Rosacea treatments, they delay seeking help until the symptoms become severe and lead to changes in skin texture or even the shape of the nose.

Rosacea can be divided into two sub types; Papulopustular and Erythrotelangiectatic. The former typically presents with red bumps on the skin that can resemble acne, while the latter is associated with more general redness and prolonged flushing of the face. However, there are many symptoms associated with Rosacea, and a patient can present with many combinations of these.

  • Redness and Swelling: For many patients, this skin condition is marked by prolonged redness and swelling, which can also be accompanied by an itching or burning sensation. Flushing of the face, especially the cheeks, is also quite common.
  • Bumps: With papulopustular Rosacea, the patient develops bumps on the skin that resemble acne. We’ve had numerous patients who visited us because they thought they were dealing with adult acne and were frustrated because over-the-counter acne medication wasn’t effective. But upon closer examination, the issue turned out to be Rosacea – and we were able to help them get their symptoms under control with proper treatment.

It is important to keep in mind that symptoms can occur in varying combinations and with different severity. This makes it imperative to develop a custom-tailored treatment plan that addresses your unique needs, to provide long term relief.
